The word Cryolipolysis comes from the Greek “cryo” and “lipo”. They mean cold and fat respectively. In English it is called coolsculpting or cryolipolysis.

It is a new technique that seems to be called to revolutionize beauty treatments for localized adiposity reduction. It is endorsed with a year of life in its country of origin (USA), to implant now with more baggage in Europe.

What is Cryolipolysis?

Cryolipolysis is the new non-invasive dermatological method that, by administering cold (below 0º C) in a controlled way through the skin, has been shown to reduce the adiposities located in the human body.

No needles or incisions are used, and most importantly, it does not produce pain and does not need any type of anesthesia. In addition, Cryolipolysis does not require a recovery period after treatment, so the incorporation into daily activity is instantaneous.

The great difference of this technique with the laser, the radiofrequency or the ultrasound, is that the cold attacks only the fat cells, while the other systems could also damage the adjacent tissues.
